The TCL P1109FLG is a 9kg front loader built around a direct-drive inverter motor: no belt, fewer moving parts, and a quieter spin. It heats its own water for hot and steam washes, so it only needs a cold tap, and it spins at up to 1200 RPM, so clothes come out damp rather than dripping. A good fit for a family that washes in a few big loads a week rather than a little every day.

For most loads you'll only use three or four. Cotton and Mix cover everyday clothes, Quick Wash handles lightly worn items, and Bedding is there for sheets and duvet covers.
Most cheaper washers turn the drum with a belt, the same way a car's fan belt works. Belts stretch, slip and eventually snap. On the P1109FLG the motor sits directly on the back of the drum, so there's no belt at all. That means less noise and vibration at full spin, and one less part to wear out.
The machine is 85cm tall, the standard height for fitting under a kitchen counter. Measure the space before you buy and ask us for the width and depth of the unit in stock. Leave roughly 10–15cm behind it for the hoses, and room in front for the door to open fully. It needs a level, solid floor. A wobbly floor makes any front loader walk during the spin.
A front loader fills through an electric valve, and it needs enough water pressure to fill properly. If you're on a high floor, or your water comes from a rooftop tank by gravity, the pressure may be too low: the machine fills slowly, takes much longer per cycle, or stops with an error.
If your pressure is low, a booster pump fixes it. We stock them from KSh 4,500 to 7,500. Tell us how your water is supplied when you order, and we'll check before we deliver.
Every front loader leaves the factory with bolts through the back that lock the drum in place for transport. They must come out before the first wash. If they don't, the machine shakes violently on the spin and can damage itself. We remove them when we install. Keep them in a drawer: if you ever move house, put them back in before the machine travels.
The heater lets you wash at up to 95°C without a hot water connection. Use the hot and steam settings for towels, bedding, baby clothes and heavily soiled work clothes. Most everyday clothes wash fine at 30–40°C. That's gentler on fabric and uses far less electricity, because heating the water is most of what a washer's power goes on.
Much of Kenya's water is hard, and it leaves limescale on the heater and inside the drum. Run the Drum Clean program once a month with a drum cleaner (KSh 1,000 from us). It keeps the heater working efficiently and stops the musty smell front loaders can pick up.
The P1109FLG has a memory backup function, so it keeps your program settings through a power cut instead of forgetting them.
What actually hurts a washer is the voltage swing when stima comes and goes, not the cut itself. A stabiliser protects the control board; we stock them from KSh 3,000 to 20,000 depending on the size you need.
